Heenayata Sawiyak 2.0 Heenayata Sawiyak 2.0 was a meaningful community outreach initiative jointly organized by the IEEE Student Branch of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura and IEEE Women inEngineering (WIE) USJ , with the aim of supporting and uplifting a school in need through educational, motivational, and material assistance. The program was conducted as a two-day initiative on October 16th and 17th at Yahalawela School in the Badulla District , benefiting approximately 130 school students . A dedicated team of around 40 IEEE volunteers actively participated in planning and executing the program. Throughout the two days, students engaged in learning sessions, IT-related activities, motivational speeches, and fun interactive programs designed to enhance their knowledge, confidence, and enthusiasm for learning. A bonfire session held on the evening of October 16th further strengthened the bond between the students and volunteers, creating a warm and supportive environment. In addition to the educational activities, school necessities such as books and pens were distributed to all students , while additional learning materials were provided to the school to support long-term educational development. Furthermore, a projector was donated to the school , enabling improved access to digital and interactive learning resources. Overall, Heenayata Sawiyak 2.0 successfully created a positive and inspiring learning environment, leaving a lasting impact on the students and the school while reinforcing the values of service, leadership, and social responsibility among IEEE volunteers. Objectives ● To support and uplift a school in need by providing educational and motivational assistance to students. ● To enhance students’ knowledge and interest in learning through structured learning sessions and IT-related activities. ● To inspire and motivate students by delivering motivational speeches that encourage self-confidence, goal setting, and positive thinking. ● To promote creativity, teamwork, and enthusiasm among students through fun and interactive activities. ● To create a friendly and supportive learning environment that fosters personal and academic growth. ● To encourage social responsibility, leadership, and volunteerism among IEEE members through community engagement.
