Lead Spring 2025 was a leadership and entrepreneurship development program organized by the IEEE Industry Applications Society (IAS) Student Branch Chapter and the IEEE Power & Energy Society (PES) Student Branch Chapter of SLIIT , in collaboration with the IEEE IAS Sri Lanka Section . designed to guide undergraduates through the journey of leadership, innovation, and startup development , under the theme “Lead | Learn | Grow.” The program was conducted through two parallel tracks , catering to students at different stages of their entrepreneurial journey. The Discover Track was tailored for freshers and early undergraduates, focusing on problem identification, ideation, teamwork, and confidence building through interactive sessions, mini pitching activities, IEEE awareness segments, and energizers. This track introduced participants to leadership fundamentals while familiarizing them with IEEE opportunities and pathways for active involvement . The Build Track (Pitch Perfect) targeted undergraduates already operating startups or possessing MVPs or early-stage products. This track emphasized pitch refinement, business model validation, go-to-market strategies, and growth planning through structured pitch-building sessions, expert evaluations, and interactive discussions. Selected teams were provided the opportunity to engage directly with investors, mentors, and industry professionals , enabling real-world exposure and constructive feedback. Overall, Lead Spring 2025 successfully bridged academia, industry, and investment , providing students with practical exposure beyond classroom learning. The initiative strengthened the entrepreneurial ecosystem within SLIIT while positioning the IEEE IAS and IEEE PES Student Branch Chapters as active contributors to leadership and startup development among undergraduates across Sri Lanka.
