On the morning of October 15th, 2025, a dedicated cohort of 13 undergraduates embarked on an industry visit to the Epic Techno-Village in Battaramulla for TechTrek Workshop 08. Hosted by Epic Lanka Pvt Ltd, a premier name in the fintech and digital solutions landscape, the visit was curated to provide students with a tangible understanding of how high-level software engineering operates within a corporate environment. The state-of-the-art facility itself set an inspiring backdrop, reinforcing the workshop's goal of bridging the gap between academic concepts and the dynamic realities of the tech industry. The centerpiece of the agenda was an intensive two-hour technical session commencing at 10:00 AM, focused on "AI and Machine Learning." This deep dive was led by Sadeep Priyankara, a Senior Software Engineer specializing in Machine Learning at Epic Lanka. Moving beyond introductory theories, Sadeep provided a comprehensive look into the engineering lifecycle of AI models.
