Description
RevUp 1.0 was a two-phased technical initiative organized by the IEEE Women in Engineering (WIE) Student Branch Affinity Group of SLIIT, aimed at introducing undergraduate students to modern automotive engineering and future mobility concepts. The project focused on bridging theoretical knowledge with real-world applications while promoting innovation, systems thinking, and industry awareness among participants. The planning and execution of RevUp 1.0 were carried out through two well-structured phases: Phase 1 (December 2025): The first phase consisted of an industrial field visit to Browns & Company PLC, where students were exposed to real-world automotive environments and IoT-enabled systems. The visit included a technical session conducted by industry professionals, followed by a guided facility tour that provided practical insights into modern automotive technologies and workflows. Phase 2 (January 2, 2026): RevUP – Phase 2 is a continuation of the RevUP initiative aimed at strengthening students’ technical depth and future-ready engineering mindset. This phase focused on expanding participants’ understanding of how core engineering principles, systems thinking, and innovation come together to address real-world challenges, particularly in the evolving field of modern mobility.
