Junior Executive Committee Interviews 2026 | IEEE Uva Wellassa University Student Branch The Junior Executive Committee Interviews for the year 2026 were successfully conducted on 04th January 2026 (Sunday) from 8.00 AM onwards at the Stress Free Zone, Uva Wellassa University. The interview sessions were organized to select capable and enthusiastic volunteers to serve in leadership and standing committee roles across IEEE entities affiliated with the university. All candidates adhered to a formal dress code, maintaining the professional standards expected of IEEE activities. A total of 65 candidates participated in the interview process. Interviews were held for the positions of Vice Chairperson, Assistant Secretary, and members of the Membership Development, Editorial, and Public Visibility Standing Committees. The selection process covered the following five IEEE entities: • IEEE Uva Wellassa University Student Branch • IEEE Women in Engineering Student Branch Affinity Group of Uva Wellassa University • IEEE Robotics and Automation Society Uva Wellassa University Student Branch Chapter • IEEE Industry Applications Society Uva Wellassa University Student Branch Chapter • IEEE Computer Society Uva Wellassa University Student Branch Chapter The evaluation process was conducted based on several key criteria to ensure the selection of competent and well-rounded candidates. These included knowledge of IEEE, assessing the candidates’ understanding of IEEE as a professional organization and its objectives; leadership skills, focusing on attitudes towards undertaking leadership roles such as committee involvement and event coordination; and communication skills, with particular emphasis on English language proficiency. In addition, candidates were assessed on their critical thinking and situational management abilities, confidence in handling financial responsibilities, and experience in formal documentation. Consideration was also given to their contribution to upholding the university’s image, including participation in extracurricular activities, achievements, and representation of the university at events and competitions. Furthermore, knowledge of web development was evaluated where relevant, in line with the operational and technical needs of IEEE entities. The event concluded successfully, laying a strong foundation for an active and impactful Junior Executive Committee.
