The Grand Finals and Awards Ceremony of MoraXtreme 10.0 , organized by the IEEE Student Branch of the University of Moratuwa in collaboration with the IEEE Computer Society Student Branch Chapter , marked the successful conclusion of one of Sri Lanka’s most competitive undergraduate programming initiatives. The event was held on 10th January 2026 at the Department of Computer Science & Engineering of the University of Moratuwa , bringing together the country’s top competitive programming talent for a decisive final showdown. Following a highly competitive Elimination Round that attracted over 500 teams nationwide , the top 15 finalist teams earned their place at the Grand Finale. The final coding competition commenced at 7:30 AM and extended for over eight hours via the HackerRank platform , pushing participants to demonstrate advanced algorithmic thinking, efficiency, and teamwork under pressure. The problems presented during the Finals reflected real-world complexity and global competitive programming standards. The Awards Ceremony , celebrating the exceptional achievements of the finalist teams, was held at 5:00 PM , with the participation of Prof. Buddhika Jayasekara , Counselor of the IEEE Student Branch, University of Moratuwa, Mr. Shevaan Dayarathne , Marketing Executive at Creative Software, and Mr. Rahul Jeyanathan , Senior Business Analyst at Zerobeta. The Champions were awarded a cash prize of LKR 50,000 , while the First Runners-Up and Second Runners-Up received LKR 30,000 and LKR 20,000 , respectively. In addition to the cash prizes, Redline Technologies sponsored exclusive gifts for the top three teams . Thereafter, certificates were presented to all Finalists in recognition of their outstanding performance and dedication. The successful execution of the Grand Finals and Awards Ceremony reaffirmed MoraXtreme 10.0 as a premier platform that goes beyond identifying champions and nurturing competitive programming talent in Sri Lanka.
