540 FestX was an online event series organized to officially inaugurate the WIE Affinity Group – University of Moratuwa and recruit new members. The series included workshops, competitions, and engagement activities designed to attract students, raise awareness about WIE, and encourage active participation. The event concluded with an online inauguration ceremony , featuring former committee members sharing experiences, presentations on WIE’s objectives and future plans, explanations of membership processes, and encouragement for students to join and contribute. Objectives: Inaugurate the WIE Affinity Group and recruit new members Create awareness of WIE’s vision and activities Engage students through workshops and competitions Build a strong foundation for future WIE initiatives Competitions: WebX: Individual portfolio web development competition, where students showcased their web design and development skills. 3 winners were selected. MemeX: University-themed meme design competition, encouraging creativity and engagement. 1 winner was selected.
