The Workshop 3 of STRATUM 2025, in the theme of "Engineering Applications of Transport and Logistics" was organized and conducted with the objective of enhancing participants’ understanding of real-world engineering applications in the transport and logistics sector. The workshop focused on how engineering principles, technological advancements, and innovative system designs contribute to improving efficiency, sustainability, and connectivity in modern transport and logistics networks. Emphasis was placed on addressing real-world challenges related to mobility, infrastructure planning, and logistics optimization through engineering-driven solutions. The session was conducted by Emeritus Prof. Amal S. Kumarage, Founder of the Department of Transport Management & Logistics Engineering, Independent Non-Executive Director of PickMe, and Former Chairman of the National Transport Commission. Leveraging his extensive experience in academia, industry, and national-level transport policy, Prof. Kumarage provided valuable insights into sustainable transport systems, practical engineering applications, and future trends in the transport and logistics domain. The workshop was held on 21st October 2025, commencing at 4.00 PM, at the University of Moratuwa. The session concluded successfully with active engagement from participants and served as an informative platform for broadening knowledge on the evolving role of engineering in transport and logistics.
