The Awareness Session for freshers of the 2024/2025 batch, organized by the IEEE Computer Society Chapter of the University of Vavuniya, was held on 02nd January 2025 at TLH-1. The session aimed to introduce students to the value of IEEE CS membership and the opportunities available within the chapter. The event began with a warm welcome speech by Prabaharan Arwinth, Web Admin of the chapter, followed by the main session conducted by Vice Chair Thiwanka Lakshan. He explained the benefits of IEEE membership, volunteering pathways, and the importance of engaging in technical communities. A Vote of Thanks was delivered by Secretary Mathuumitha Thevarajah, appreciating the support of academic and chapter leaders. The session concluded with a group photo, marking a successful and inspiring engagement. The event motivated students to join IEEE CS, strengthened chapter collaboration, and increased interest in future initiatives.
