INTRODUCTION The webinar “How to Face an Interview Effectively” was organized under CareerXpo 2.0, hosted by the IEEE Student Branch of the University of Ruhuna, in collaboration with the Electrical and Information Engineering Society (EIES) and the Career Guidance Unit (CGU) of the University of Ruhuna . This session was held on 08th October 2025 at 6:00 PM via Zoom (Online). This was designed to help participants improve their interview skills, providing practical guidance to approach interviews confidently and effectively. VISION To empower students and job seekers with practical knowledge and strategies for successful career interviews. MISSION To provide actionable tips, real-world insights, and confidence-building techniques that will help participants excel in interviews and advance their career opportunities. OBJECTIVES · Understand different types of interviews and what employers expect · Build confidence and manage interview anxiety · Prepare for common, situational, and behavioral interview questions · Improve verbal and non-verbal communication skills EVENT DESCRIPTION The webinar on “How to Face Interviews Effectively,” held on 08 th October 2025 at 6.00 PM via Zoom, was an engaging program aimed at equipping students with the skills and confidence needed to succeed in interviews. The session began with an informative talk that outlined the key steps in the interview process, including preparation techniques, types of interviews, and what employers typically look for in candidates. This was followed by a segment that focused on building confidence, managing anxiety, and improving both verbal and non-verbal communication skills. Participants were also guided on how to present their strengths, achievements, and personal brand effectively, along with tips on resume enhancement and professional etiquette during and after interviews. The webinar left participants inspired and prepared to face future interviews with confidence and clarity.
