Introduction IEEE Women in Engineering Sri Lanka supported a Residential Workshop for Female Undergraduates organized by the WePower Sri Lanka National Chapter. The initiative aimed to enhance the students' practical knowledge and exposure to the renewable energy sector. Objectives The workshop was conducted to encourage female participation in STEM and energy-related fields, provide real-world industry exposure, and inspire young women to explore careers in renewable energy. Event Overview As part of the program, participants covered nearly 910km visiting several key renewable energy sites, including the Dambulu Oya Mini Hydro Power Station, Kabithigollawa Solar Power Plant, and Thambapavani Wind Farm. These visits allowed students to observe energy generation processes and industry operations firsthand. Outcomes The workshop successfully provided participants with practical learning experiences, increased awareness of renewable energy technologies, and strengthened interest among female undergraduates in pursuing STEM careers. Conclusion Through its support of this initiative, IEEE WIE Sri Lanka contributed to empowering young women with knowledge and inspiration, reinforcing its commitment to diversity and inclusion within engineering and technology fields.
