Description
අර්ථ 2.0 – ‘හෙට ලොවට දිරියක්’ is a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative organized by the IEEE Computer Society Student Branch Chapter of General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University, aimed at addressing digital inequality and enhancing access to quality education in underserved communities. Building on the success of the inaugural අර්ථ project, this second phase seeks to create a more meaningful and sustainable impact through targeted technological and educational interventions. The initiative prioritized the donation of essential computer resources, strengthening school-level IT infrastructure and improving digital literacy. By providing students—particularly those preparing for the G.C.E. Ordinary Level ICT stream—with access to functional computers, අර්ථ 2.0 enabled hands-on learning, skill development, and increased confidence in technology use. Combined with educational materials and student-centered activities, these resources contributed significantly to academic growth, technological awareness, and personal development.
