This was followed by the Welcome Speech, where the objectives of IEEE Whispers and the importance of student engagement in IEEE activities were highlighted. The Membership Development Session was conducted as the main segment of the programme by Eng. Chameera De Silva, Lecturer of the Department of Data Science at Sri Lanka Technology Campus. During his session, he provided a comprehensive introduction to IEEE, explaining what IEEE represents as a global professional organization and its significance for engineering and technology students. He elaborated on the importance of becoming an IEEE member and outlined the numerous opportunities available through IEEE, including volunteering, leadership roles, technical society involvement, networking platforms, competitions, and international exposure. He further emphasized how active participation in IEEE enhances teamwork, communication skills, technical competency, and career readiness. His session inspired the newly enrolled undergraduates to begin their IEEE journey early and to take advantage of the opportunities provided by the Student Branch. Following the session, a token of appreciation was presented to Eng. Chameera De Silva in recognition of his valuable contribution to the programme. The event also featured the Certificate Awarding Ceremony for the Organizing Committee of Silicon Pulse 2025, organized by the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society Student Branch Chapter of SLTC. Certificates were awarded to the organizing committee members in appreciation of their dedication and successful execution of the project. This segment served as a source of inspiration for the new students, demonstrating how active involvement in IEEE initiatives leads to meaningful impact, skill development, and formal recognition. The programme concluded at 6.00 PM with the Vote of Thanks, expressing sincere gratitude to the guest speaker, organizing committee members, volunteers, and participants for their support in making the event a success.
