The IEEE GRSS Student Branch Chapter of University of Moratuwa successfully conducted an Awareness Session on 09th February 2026 to educate students of University of Moratuwa about the mission, vision, and opportunities within IEEE GRSS. The session commenced with a welcome address and a brief introduction to the society. A video presentation showcasing IEEE GRSS’s global impact and international initiatives was screened to provide participants with an understanding of the society’s worldwide presence and contributions to geoscience and remote sensing. Following this, the Chairperson of the IEEE GRSS Student Branch Chapter addressed the audience, sharing insights into the chapter’s journey, achievements, and future vision. A dedicated chapter video was presented, highlighting past events, milestones, and active engagement within the university. Subsequently, the Vice Chair delivered a session explaining the benefits of IEEE GRSS membership, the process of becoming a member, and the professional and technical opportunities available through active participation. The event concluded with closing remarks, expressing appreciation to all attendees and encouraging continued engagement with IEEE GRSS initiatives.
