On 29th January at 9:00 AM, a group of nine undergraduates visited Atlas Labs on Vauxhall Street for Techtrek 3.0 Workshop 1, aimed at gaining practical insight into real-world technological environments. The visit began with an introduction to the company, where the team explained Atlas Labs’ background, vision, and the nature of its multidisciplinary projects. Following this, we were taken on a guided tour through several departments, starting with the Embedded Systems team, where we learned about hardware–software integration and real-time system development, followed by the Mechatronics Engineering department, which demonstrated how mechanical systems, electronics, and control technologies are combined to build intelligent automated solutions. We then visited the Architecture Visualization team, which showcased how architectural designs are transformed into realistic 3D models using advanced visualization tools. The tour continued with the Data Labelling team, where the importance of accurate data annotation in training reliable machine learning models was explained, and the Quality Assurance team, which highlighted testing processes used to ensure software quality and performance. We also gained valuable exposure to the Artificial Intelligence and Data Science teams, where concepts such as machine learning, data analysis, and predictive modelling were discussed along with their real-world applications. The Front-End Development team then shared insights into user interface design and the importance of creating seamless and user-friendly digital experiences. The visit concluded with an impactful HR-led self-branding session that focused on professional development, personal branding, and industry expectations for undergraduates. Overall, the visit was a highly informative and enriching experience that enhanced our understanding of industry workflows, interdisciplinary collaboration, and the skills required to succeed in the technology sector.
