On 13th February at 10:00 AM, a group of 45 undergraduates visited Virtusa on Orion City for TechTrek 3.0 Workshop 2, aimed at providing meaningful exposure to the evolving technology landscape and career opportunities within the IT industry. The session began with an insightful talk by Mr Laksiri Balasuriya, who discussed how technology can be used to create better user experiences while highlighting emerging job roles in Artificial Intelligence and the evolution of AI-related fields. The session also included an interactive activity that encouraged participant engagement, critical thinking, and practical application of concepts. Following a short break, the second session was conducted by Mr Nonim Samarakoon, who provided an overview of Virtusa’s technology stack inventory, along with insights into system architecture and the DevOps landscape, and an introductory perspective on Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. This session helped participants understand how modern enterprise systems are structured and deployed in real-world environments. The final session was delivered by Mr Aniston Leo, who focused on explaining the differences between service-based and product-based companies, offering valuable clarity on industry models, work cultures, and career pathways. The virtual visit concluded as an informative and engaging experience that significantly enhanced participants’ understanding of modern technologies, industry practices, and professional development opportunities.
