Description

The IEEE Student Awards Awareness Session 2026 was organized to educate IEEE student members about prestigious global awards available within IEEE. The session highlighted several major recognitions including the Darrel Chong Student Activity Award , IEEE Regional Exemplary Student Branch Award , IEEE Outstanding Branch Counselor and Branch Chapter Advisor Award , and the Larry K. Wilson Regional Student Activities Award . The objective of the session was to increase awareness among IEEE Student Branch leaders and members in Sri Lanka about these awards, their eligibility criteria, application processes, and the impact they can have on recognizing outstanding student initiatives and leadership. Participants were guided on how student branches can document their activities effectively and submit strong nominations that showcase their achievements and contributions to IEEE.
