The Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the IEEE Power & Energy Society (PES) Student Branch Chapter at the University of Ruhuna was successfully held on 24th February 2026 at the Faculty of Engineering, University of Ruhuna . The AGM served as an important platform for the chapter members to review the activities and achievements of the 2024/2025 term , discuss the progress of ongoing initiatives, and outline strategic plans for the upcoming 2025/2026 term . During the meeting, the outgoing executive committee presented a summary of the chapter’s activities, including technical events, workshops, industrial engagements, and collaborative programs conducted throughout the year. The session highlighted the chapter’s commitment to promoting knowledge and innovation in the power and energy sector among engineering students. A key highlight of the AGM was the appointment of the new executive committee for the 2025/2026 tenure , who will continue to lead the chapter in organizing impactful events, strengthening industry connections, and enhancing student engagement within the IEEE PES community.
