The Faculty of Geomatics at Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka (SUSL) has expressed interest in establishing an IEEE GRSS Student Chapter. A group of students, together with their potential advisor, Dr. Duminda Welikanna (Senior Lecturer, Faculty of Geomatics), has come together with the intention of initiating the chapter. As earlier discussions involved students who have now graduated, this session was organized for the newly interested students to clarify the process of establishing a student chapter. The discussion covered the petition process, expected activities of a GRSS student chapter, and the benefits available to student members. The session also provided an opportunity for students to clarify their questions and explore ways to actively engage with the IEEE GRSS community.
