AUTOSYS 2026 – Industrial Field Visit on Robotics & Automation is organized as part of the AUTOSYS technical program conducted by the IEEE WIE Student Branch Affinity Group of South Eastern University of Sri Lanka. The objective of this industrial visit is to provide participants with real-world exposure to automation and robotics technologies used in modern industrial environments. The visit aims to bridge the gap between academic knowledge and practical industry applications by allowing students to observe automation systems operating in real production facilities. During the visit, participants will explore industrial automation systems used in manufacturing processes, robotics applications in production environments, PLC-based control systems operating in real time, and safety practices followed in automated industrial facilities. Industry professionals will guide the participants through the facility and explain how automation technologies improve efficiency, productivity, and operational safety. This experience will provide students with practical insight into how PLC systems, robotics, sensors, and control systems are integrated within modern industrial automation solutions.
