The ConnectX Industry Visit Series is an initiative organized by the I EEE Computational Intelligence Society (CIS) Student Branch Chapter of the Informatics Institute of Technology (IIT) , aimed at providing students with real-world industry exposure in Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, and Automation. The second industry visit of the series was conducted to PickMe on 23 October 2025 , where students gained valuable insights into how large-scale intelligent systems are designed, deployed, and optimized in real-world environments. Participants explored how PickMe leverages Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, and Smart Mobility technologies to enhance everyday transportation. Key areas covered included AI-driven fleet optimization, data engineering workflows, platform architecture, recommendation systems, and MLOps frameworks used in production environments. Through interactive sessions conducted by industry professionals, students gained insights into real-world data pipelines, system scalability, and AI-powered decision-making processes in large-scale platforms. The session featured knowledge sharing by industry professionals from PickMe , including: Mr. Roy Ian – Principal Data Scientist / Head of Data Science, PickMe The visit successfully expanded students’ understanding of modern AI systems and inspired them to explore careers in data-driven innovation and intelligent system development.
