Overview: On May 11, 2026, the IEEE Student Branch of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura (USJ) successfully conducted the inaugural session of its technical talk series, Insight Wave 3.0. The event, held at the Faculty of Computing, attracted approximately 75 participants, including student members and staff. The session was themed “ Entrepreneurship in the Age of AI ” and aimed to provide a strategic roadmap for navigating the rapidly evolving technological landscape. Session Highlights: The keynote was delivered by Prof. Nir Kshetri , a renowned expert in the field, who provided a deep dive into AI-driven innovation and the emerging opportunities for student entrepreneurs. The technical talk covered global trends, the ethical implementation of AI in startups, and practical strategies for navigating the modern digital economy. The high level of engagement during the Q&A session reflected the relevance of the topic to the current student body at the University. Impact and Outcome: By facilitating direct interaction with an international academic expert, this event strengthened the technical ecosystem of the branch.
