The IEEE Student Branch of NIBM successfully conducted the “NIBM IEEE General Meeting 2026” on 30th April 2026 at NIBM, from 4.00 PM to 5.00 PM. The session was organized as an awareness and engagement session for the general members of the IEEE Student Branch, focusing on introducing IEEE, its benefits, and the opportunities available for students through active involvement in the branch. The session was conducted by Sanka Jayawardana, a member of the IEEE Student Branch, who addressed the attendees by sharing valuable insights about IEEE and the advantages of being part of the global professional community. He also reflected on the successful events and initiatives organized by the Student Branch, encouraging members to actively participate in future activities and make the most of the opportunities available to them. In addition, he shared his personal experiences and growth journey through IEEE, inspiring members to engage more confidently with the branch. Following the session, the Chair of the IEEE Student Branch Pradeesha Hettiarachchi addressed the gathering and introduced the branch’s upcoming events, future plans, and opportunities available for members to contribute and participate. Members were also encouraged to obtain their IEEE memberships and become more actively involved within the Student Branch community. The event concluded on an engaging and memorable note with the distribution of IEEE-themed swags among the attendees, further strengthening member enthusiasm and interaction within the branch.
