Description

The weekly Executive Committee meeting of IEEE Student Branch of University of Sri Jayewardenepura was successfully conducted with the participation of the Student Branch Executive Committee members and chapter representatives. The meeting focused on reviewing ongoing activities, sharing chapter-wise progress updates, and discussing the upcoming plans and responsibilities related to major Student Branch initiatives. The meeting commenced with the introduction of the newly appointed Project Coordinator, Akshay Vijayakumar , by Dheeshana. Following this, Akshay introduced himself to the Executive Committee, and the members also briefly introduced themselves to ensure better coordination and communication within the team. Key discussions were held regarding the upcoming Friday Project Sync-Up Meeting , where the importance of regular updates and active participation from all responsible parties was highlighted. The Executive Committee also discussed the progress of Career Gateway 1.0 , the upcoming job fair organized by IEEE Student Branch of USJ. Members were encouraged to take ownership of responsibilities through their respective chapters, while each chapter was also requested to contribute towards finance and logistics-related tasks to support the successful execution of the event. It was further communicated that, as advised by the Branch Counselor, all official reservation letters and related documents should be prepared under the official letterhead of IEEE Student Branch of USJ instead of using separate chapter-wise letterheads. Finance-related updates were presented by Praveen Tharuka , followed by chapter-wise updates from the representatives. Updates were provided by Hiran Geeth for ComSoc, Harini Dissanayake for IES, Chethiya for CS, Nethara Vidmantha for EMBS, Nimangi Nethumila for WIE, and Asan Vinujitha for SPS. Additionally, Movindu provided updates regarding the job fair, while Thiran Ranathunga updated the committee on flyer-related progress. Sakindu Weenath shared updates regarding Career Gateway 1.0 and IEEE R10 Awards, and Dheeshana provided updates on the invitation process.
