Description

The Executive Committee Meeting No. 02 of the IEEE Sri Lanka Section Computer Society Chapter for the year 2026 was successfully held on 29th April 2026 at 5.00 p.m. at the 7th Floor, Faculty of Computing (FOC) Building, SLIIT Malabe. The meeting brought together Executive Committee members to review the progress of Chapter activities, discuss subcommittee plans, and coordinate strategic initiatives for the year 2026. The session provided an opportunity for collaborative planning and strengthening engagement among academia, industry, students, and professional communities. The following agenda items were discussed during the meeting: 1. Subcommittee Activities – Presentation of event proposals and annual plans by the coordinators of the following subcommittees: * Student Chapters and Student Activities * Educational Activities * Industry Relations * Professional Activities * Membership Development * Editorial Committee * Young Professionals * Women in Computing * IEEE Sri Lanka Cyber Security Group 2. Planning of the activity calendar for the year 2026 3. Financial updates and budget planning 4. Any other matters During the meeting, coordinators presented their proposed activities and initiatives aligned with the Chapter’s strategic objectives. Discussions also focused on strengthening collaboration among subcommittees, improving member engagement, and planning impactful technical and professional development activities for the IEEE Computer Society community in Sri Lanka.
