PELS Meeting Minutes – Discussion Points Discussion on the Moroccan DLP Lecturer The committee discussed the potential collaboration and engagement with the Moroccan DLP Lecturer. Opportunities for knowledge sharing, technical sessions, and international networking were highlighted. Members agreed to explore possible future webinars and professional development activities involving the lecturer. Confirmation of the 0 USD Registration Code for PELS Students in Sri Lanka The committee confirmed the availability of the 0 USD promotional registration code for eligible PELS student members in Sri Lanka. Student Branch representatives were encouraged to communicate this opportunity to their members. A follow-up awareness campaign will be conducted to maximize student participation and membership growth. Strategic Plan to Initiate and Revive PELS Student Branch Chapters The committee discussed the current status of PELS Student Branch Chapters across Sri Lanka. Several inactive chapters were identified, and strategies were proposed to re-engage student volunteers. The following action plan was suggested: Conduct awareness sessions on the benefits of PELS membership. Organize technical workshops, webinars, and industry engagement programs. Collaborate with IEEE Student Branches to increase visibility and participation. Establish a mentorship program connecting active PELS leaders with emerging chapters. Provide guidance on chapter reporting, membership development, and event management. Recognize outstanding chapters through awards and appreciation initiatives. Regional coordinators will be assigned to support chapter revitalization efforts and monitor progress. Action Items Promote the 0 USD registration code among IEEE Student Branches. Identify inactive PELS chapters and establish communication with their leadership teams. Develop a chapter revitalization roadmap and timeline. Organize introductory PELS awareness sessions for universities with potential new chapters. Explore future collaboration opportunities with the Moroccan DLP Lecturer.
