The first day of organizing committee interviews for Career Gateway 1.0 , the inaugural job fair organized by the IEEE Student Branch of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura , was conducted on 27th May from 6.00 PM to 10.00 PM . The interviews were held to evaluate the applicants who had expressed their interest in joining the organizing committee of the event. Participants were interviewed by two separate interview panels , which included members of the IEEE Student Branch Executive Committee , along with the Event Chair, Secretary, and Co-Chairs . This structure ensured that each applicant was assessed fairly and comprehensively based on their skills, interests, availability, and suitability for the respective organizing teams. During the interviews, the panels focused on identifying capable and committed volunteers who could contribute effectively to the planning and execution of Career Gateway 1.0. The discussions covered areas such as previous volunteering experience, communication skills, teamwork, responsibility, leadership potential, and understanding of the event’s objectives. Applicants were also given the opportunity to express their preferred teams and explain how they could support the success of the event. The first day of interviews played an important role in selecting enthusiastic and suitable members for the organizing committee, helping to build a strong foundation for the successful implementation of Career Gateway 1.0.
