Updates were taken regarding ongoing projects of each chapter. 1. Computer Society (CS) Chapter Beauty of Cloud 2.0 (Ongoing Project) ● Financials: Target budget is 320,000 LKR. Currently raised 20,000 LKR. In active negotiations with SFS Academy for a 100,000 LKR Title Sponsorship, alongside other promising leads. ● Progress: Successfully completed 2 sessions with a total of 550+ participants. Specialized project website is up and running (beautyofcloud.com). ● Upcoming: Planning a physical competition and 3 physical sessions (June 5th and June 15th). Confirmed speakers include a Senior Software Engineer and an AWS Platform Engineer. Algo Ace 2.0 (Ongoing Project) ● Financials: No budget required (fully online project). ● Progress: Successfully completed 1 out of 4 planned sessions and 1 out of 4 planned mini hackathons (Code Arena). Developing an online badge series for delegates to boost engagement (currently in the design phase). ● Upcoming: Next session scheduled for June 6th; next mini hackathon on June 21st. ● Challenges: Sustaining long-term participation from delegates. The team has formulated strong future marketing strategies and retention tactics to address this. J’Pura Extreme (Future Physical Event) ● Dates: 1st Event on August 15th; Final on September 19th. ● Financials: Target budget is 440,000 LKR. Project budget and sponsorship content are completed. ● Event Structure: Expanding to include school students. Features an 8-hour track for schools and a 24-hour hackathon track for university students. To ensure fairness, the university and school competitions will be conducted as individual, separate sessions. ● Progress: 1st OC meeting completed. Currently brainstorming the hackathon theme and developing the website. Securing merchandise packages and actively building in-person relationships with target schools and universities. Industry 200 ● Overview: Upcoming podcast series featuring past EXCOM members and knowledge partners. ● Financials: 50,000 LKR allocated directly from chapter funds. ● Progress: Currently preparing logos and securing a venue for recording. 2. IEEE Student Branch Expedition 3.0 (Upcoming Project) ● Date: June 20, 2026. ● Financials: Target budget is 200,000 LKR, with the current raised monetary value at 0 LKR. Physical sponsor hunting is scheduled for this week. ● Progress: Marketing plan established (inspired by a popular series). Finalizing the delegate registration platform by this Thursday. Currently planning interactive elements (quizzes/games), event decorations, and a photobooth. Career Gateway 1.0 (Upcoming Project) ● Date: Job Fair scheduled for July 10th. ● Financials: Target budget is 200,000 LKR, with the current raised monetary value at 0 LKR. Sponsorship proposals and Industry Relations programming are in the final stages. Sponsorship pitching begins this week. ● Progress: OC interviews completed; team finalization is in the last stage. Tracking sheets and marketing plans are done, with a "coming soon" video in preparation. ● Upcoming: Planned 2 online sessions (the first launching in the 1st week of June) and 2 field visits (one in collaboration with WIE to DIMO in the 2nd week of June). 3. EMBS Chapter BioByte (Upcoming Project) ● Progress: OC recruitment calls closed on May 29th. The final OC team will be selected and confirmed by this week. 4. PES Chapter Nexora ● Overview: Power and energy knowledge-sharing project. ● Progress: NExora 1.0 successfully completed. The team is now planning NExora 1.1 and developing the OC recruitment posts. ● Partnerships: Successfully secured Calista Studio as the official Gift Partner to sponsor premium tokens/gifts for guest speakers. ● Outreach: Actively reaching out to Faculty Ambassadors to recruit participants and secure guest speakers from other faculties.
