The IEEE PES Student Branch Chapter of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura successfully organized Nexora 1.0, an insightful virtual knowledge-sharing session focused on building professional careers within the solar energy industry. The session was conducted by Mr. Jaliya Weerakoon on 26th May 2026 from 7.00 PM to 8.30 PM. The event aimed to provide participants with practical industry exposure and technical knowledge related to solar photovoltaic systems, renewable energy technologies, and career opportunities in the sustainable energy sector. During the session, participants gained valuable insights into rooftop solar project implementation, common field-level installation challenges, grid integration, hybrid energy systems, battery technologies, and future advancements in solar energy technologies. The discussion successfully bridged the gap between academic learning and industrial applications. An interactive technical quiz session was also conducted to evaluate participants’ understanding of practical engineering scenarios discussed throughout the session. The quiz enhanced engagement and encouraged analytical thinking related to real-world solar PV system operations and troubleshooting practices. The event successfully inspired participants to explore emerging opportunities within the renewable energy industry while strengthening their technical and professional understanding of the solar energy sector.
