The Power of Giving Back: How Volunteering Shapes Women Leaders in STEM The IEEE Women in Engineering Sri Lanka successfully concluded POWER HOUR IV – Session 01 under the theme “The Power of Giving Back: How Volunteering Shapes Women Leaders in STEM.” The session featured Dr. Windhya Rankothge , Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Canadian Institute for Cyber Security, University of New Brunswick, Canada, and recipient of the IEEE WIE Committee Volunteer of the Year Award 2025 , as the guest speaker. She shared inspiring insights on how volunteering empowers women in STEM by building leadership skills, confidence, professional networks, and a strong sense of purpose. The session encouraged participants to embrace volunteerism as a pathway to personal growth, community impact, and meaningful leadership in the STEM field.
