Industry Readiness Workshop Series 2026 – Session 01 Successfully Conducted The first session of the Industry Readiness Workshop Series 2026, jointly organized by SLAAS Section E3 (Computer Science), the IEEE Computer Society Sri Lanka Chapter, the IEEE Women in Engineering (WIE) Affinity Group Sri Lanka, and iTeam of the Department of Computer Science, The Open University of Sri Lanka, in collaboration with IFS, was successfully conducted online on 03 June 2026 under the leadership and coordination of Dr. Suresha Perera, Senior Lecturer at The Open University of Sri Lanka. The inaugural session, titled “Building a Competitive Tech Profile: CV, Portfolio & LinkedIn,” attracted approximately 700 undergraduate students and recent graduates from universities and higher educational institutions across Sri Lanka. The session was moderated by Ms. Menaka Moonamaldeniya, Lecturer at SLIIT Kandy UNI. The resource person, Mr. Sharon Fernando, Talent Acquisition Lead at IFS, shared practical insights on CV preparation, portfolio development, LinkedIn optimization, and employer expectations. The session concluded with an interactive Q&A session, allowing participants to engage actively on topics related to internships, career planning, and professional development. The vote of thanks was delivered by Prof. Nuwan Kodagoda, Deputy Vice Chancellor (Computing) at SLIIT. The enthusiastic participation and positive feedback received from students demonstrated the value of the workshop series, which will continue with upcoming sessions focusing on professional development, productivity, AI-assisted software development, career transition, and technology leadership.
