Industry Readiness Workshop Series 2026 – Session 02 Successfully Conducted The second session of the “Industry Readiness Workshop Series 2026”, jointly organized by SLAAS Section E3 (Computer Science), the IEEE Computer Society Sri Lanka Chapter, the IEEE Women in Engineering (WIE) Affinity Group Sri Lanka, and the iTeam of the Department of Computer Science, The Open University of Sri Lanka, in collaboration with IFS, was successfully conducted online on 10 th June 2026 under the coordination of Dr. Suresha Perera, Senior Lecturer at The Open University of Sri Lanka. The session was moderated by Ms. Menaka Moonamaldeniya, Lecturer at SLIIT Kandy UNI. The session, titled “Productivity & Work Management in Tech Careers,” attracted more than 400 undergraduate students and recent graduates from universities and higher educational institutions across Sri Lanka. The strong participation reflected the growing interest in professional development and industry readiness among the student community. The session focused on equipping participants with practical strategies to improve productivity, manage workloads effectively, and adapt to the fast-paced nature of modern technology careers. Key themes included time management, prioritization techniques, effective collaboration in software teams, handling multiple tasks in agile environments, and maintaining work-life balance while ensuring high performance in professional settings. The session featured two distinguished resource persons from IFS: · Mr. Nalaka Samarasinghe, Senior Manager, Unified Support, IFS · Mr. Nimesh Nishamal, Senior Software Engineer, IFS Both speakers shared valuable real-world experiences from the software industry, highlighting how productivity is managed in professional engineering teams, how individuals can structure their work efficiently, and how early-career professionals can build sustainable work habits. Their insights provided participants with a clear understanding of expectations in technology-driven workplaces. An engaging interactive Q&A session followed, where participants actively discussed topics related to productivity challenges, team dynamics, and transitioning from academia to industry. The session provided a practical and insightful learning experience for all attendees. The organizing committee extends its sincere gratitude to all speakers, coordinators, and participants for their valuable contributions in making Session 02 a success.
