IEEE Education Week Sri Lanka 2026 - Part 1 - Pre-School

IEEE Education Week Sri Lanka 2026 was organized by the IEEE Sri Lanka Section, IEEE Young Professionals Sri Lanka (YPSL), and IEEE Sri Lanka Inspire National Project (SLInspire), in collaboration with IEEE SAC, IEEE WIE, IEEE SIGHT, and SL2C, with StudPro as the Program Partner, TRACE Expert Sri Lanka as the Ecosystem Partner, and IFS Sri Lanka as the Powering Partner. On 28 May 2026, the programme ran from around 8:00 a.m. to 12:40 p.m. at TRACE Expert City, Colombo, Sri Lanka, bringing together 60 students and 3 teachers from Arawwala Dharmapala College and St. John's College, Nugegoda. The programme included a Career Guidance session conducted by members of the IEEE Sri Lanka Inspire team , which introduced students to different career pathways associated with various subject streams and helped them understand the educational opportunities available to them. The SLInspire team also motivated and encouraged the students through their presentations and speeches, inspiring them to think about their future goals and possibilities. A Cyber Safety session was conducted by Mrs. Shiromi Samarakoon from the Digital Safeguarding Center , providing students with important awareness about staying safe in digital environments. The programme also featured interactive STEM activities conducted by STEMUP Educational Foundation, Gavesha Labs, Nenasa, and SEDS Sri Lanka, giving students opportunities to engage with STEM concepts through practical and interactive experiences. Through career guidance, motivational sessions, cyber safety education, and practical STEM activities, the programme encouraged students to explore their interests, develop creativity and problem-solving skills, and gain greater awareness of future educational and career opportunities.
