Knowledge Sharing Session by IEEE SB USJ to IEEE OUSL EXCOM

The IEEE Student Branch University of Sri Jayewardenepura conducted a knowledge-sharing session for the Executive Committee of IEEE Student Branch Open University of Sri Lanka with the objective of strengthening leadership, operational, and reporting capabilities within student branch activities. The session focused on two major areas essential for effective student branch operations: event planning and execution and IEEE vTools reporting . The first session was conducted by the Dheeshana, Chairperson of IEEE SB USJ, covering comprehensive event planning processes from concept development to final event execution. This session provided participants with practical insights into planning, organizing, coordinating, and successfully delivering IEEE events. Additionally, the Chairperson of CINEC Student Branch Kavishka contributed valuable perspectives and practical experiences related to event management and execution. The second session was conducted by Sakindu, Secretary of IEEE SB USJ, focusing on IEEE vTools reporting. Participants were guided through the importance of proper event reporting, report submission procedures, and best practices. A demonstration video was used to provide a clear understanding of the reporting workflow. The session successfully enhanced participants’ understanding of IEEE operational practices and strengthened collaboration between student branches. Objectives Introduce IEEE operational practices to the newly appointed EXCOM members of IEEE OUSL. Improve knowledge of effective event planning and management. Provide practical guidance on organizing IEEE activities from planning to execution. Educate participants on proper IEEE vTools reporting procedures. Strengthen collaboration between IEEE student branches.
