The first workshop of DesignHer 2.0 focused on introducing participants to the fundamentals of frontend development, providing them with the essential skills required to transform creative ideas into interactive web applications. Held physically on the 23rd of May 2026 at the Faculty of Engineering, University of Ruhuna, the session attracted over 150 enthusiastic participants eager to begin their journey in web development. The workshop was conducted by Mr. Hashith Sithuruwan, Software Engineer at WSO2, who shared his expertise and industry experience in modern web development. Participants were introduced to the core technologies of frontend development, including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, while also gaining insights into building responsive and user-friendly web interfaces. Through practical demonstrations and real-world examples, attendees learned how frontend technologies work together to create engaging digital experiences. The session featured interactive discussions, live coding demonstrations, and engaging Q&A segments, allowing participants to actively interact with the speaker and deepen their understanding of the concepts presented. The enthusiasm and active participation displayed throughout the workshop contributed to a vibrant learning environment.
