Event Description As part of the Career Gateway 1.0 initiative, the IEEE Student Branch of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura organized a technical field visit to Sysco Labs Sri Lanka to provide students with practical industrial exposure and enhance their understanding of real-world software engineering practices. The visit began with an introduction to Sysco Labs, where participants gained insights into the company’s operations, culture, and technological focus. This was followed by an in-depth technical session on Cloud Computing and DevOps, where students were introduced to modern industry practices, workflows, and tools used in large-scale software systems. The session enabled participants to connect academic knowledge with industry practices and provided valuable exposure to current trends in cloud-based system development and DevOps methodologies.
