CONNECTX INDUSTRY VISIT SERIES – Xiteb

The ConnectX Industry Visit Series is an initiative organized by the IEEE Computational Intelligence Society (CIS) Student Branch Chapter of the Informatics Institute of Technology (IIT) , aimed at providing students with real-world industry exposure in Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, software engineering, and emerging technologies. The fifth industry visit of the series was conducted at Xiteb (Pvt) Ltd on 16 June 2026 from 2:30 PM onwards, with the session led by Dr. Dhanesh R. Jayathilaka, CEO of Xiteb (Pvt) Ltd. The session provided students with valuable insights into how modern software solutions are developed to support digital businesses and address real-world challenges. Participants were introduced to the work carried out at Xiteb, including software development practices, technologies used in building digital solutions, and the importance of selecting suitable approaches based on project requirements and business needs. Students also gained an understanding of industry expectations, including the importance of technical competencies, professionalism, communication skills, adaptability, and continuous improvement in professional environments. The session further highlighted the role of innovation and problem-solving in creating effective technology-driven solutions. Through the knowledge-sharing session, participants developed a clearer understanding of real-world software engineering practices, technology applications, and career readiness in the tech industry. The visit successfully enhanced students’ awareness of software engineering practices, industry expectations, and the skills required to succeed in modern technology-driven roles.
