As part of the IEEE SB UoM Open Week 2026, the Communications Society hosted a dedicated 30-minute virtual session via Zoom to connect with prospective student members. The primary goal of the event was to introduce the chapter and spark interest in our technical and professional domains . The presentation delivered a comprehensive overview of the society, breaking down our core mission, scope, and key focus areas . To give attendees a clear picture of how we operate, we detailed our organizational structure, highlighting the roles of current office bearers and committees . To demonstrate the value of becoming a member, the session showcased our major recurring events, key activities, and several of our most notable recent achievements . We provided a compelling case for why students should get involved, emphasizing the specific academic and professional advantages of joining the chapter . The session concluded by outlining the practical steps and providing the necessary contact information for students ready to officially join the Communications Society .
