As part of the IEEE WIE Day celebrations, the IEEE Women in Engineering (WIE) Affinity Group of Uva Wellassa University successfully organized ZeroCyBull , a Cyber Security Roadmap Session aligned with the IEEE WIE Day 2026 theme, "Technology with Purpose: Innovate Responsibly, Inspire Globally, Lead with Integrity." The session was chaired by the IEEE WIE Ambassador, Ms. Binushi Nayanathara , who served as the Project Chair. The resource person, Ms. Ashani Fonseka , a DevSecOps Engineer with extensive experience in cybersecurity and the cyber security industry, delivered an engaging session covering cybersecurity fundamentals, industry trends, career pathways, essential technical and professional skills, and the importance of secure and responsible technology practices. Participants also gained valuable insights into DevSecOps, emerging cyber threats, and opportunities for professional growth in the cybersecurity domain. Adding further value to the initiative, the organizing team collaborated with Cisco Networking Academy , which confirmed the provision of a free Cyber Security course for all participants. This opportunity enabled attendees to continue their learning journey through a globally recognized training platform and strengthen their practical cybersecurity knowledge. The event successfully inspired students to explore cybersecurity as a career, promoted responsible innovation in technology, and reflected the mission of IEEE WIE Day by empowering future technology leaders with knowledge, integrity, and global perspectives.
