Introduction Session on IEEE Industry Applications Society (IAS)

Description

The IEEE Industry Applications Society (IAS) Student Branch Chapter of Rajarata University of Sri Lanka successfully organized an Introduction Session on IEEE Industry Applications Society (IAS) on 23rd July 2026 via Google Meet. The session was conducted to introduce students to the IEEE Industry Applications Society, its mission, global impact, and the numerous opportunities available for students through IAS membership. The session was delivered by R. M. Gayathri S. Bandara , Chair of the IEEE Industry Applications Society Sri Lanka Chapter (2026) . She provided an insightful overview of the IEEE IAS, highlighting its role in bridging academia and industry, the benefits of becoming an IAS member, leadership opportunities, technical activities, and international collaborations. The session also introduced participants to the newly established IEEE IAS Student Branch Chapter of Rajarata University of Sri Lanka and encouraged them to actively engage in its future initiatives. The event concluded with an interactive Q&A session, enabling participants to clarify their questions and gain a deeper understanding of the society's vision and activities. A total of 41 participants attended the session, making it a successful and informative introduction to the IEEE Industry Applications Society.
