Becoming was a special session organized by the IEEE Women in Engineering Affinity Group of the Informatics Institute of Technology (IIT) in celebration of International Women's Day , creating a platform to recognize the achievements, leadership, and resilience of women while encouraging meaningful conversations on personal growth, confidence, and empowerment. Open to all students, the session fostered an inclusive environment where diverse perspectives were welcomed and celebrated. The session featured Dr. Dilhari Attygalle, Dean of the Informatics Institute of Technology , who delivered an inspiring talk titled "Lessons from My Journey: Things No One Told Us About Being a Woman." Drawing from her extensive experience in academia, leadership, and mentoring, Dr. Attygalle shared honest reflections on the challenges, opportunities, and life lessons that shaped her personal and professional journey. Through powerful storytelling and practical advice, she encouraged participants to embrace challenges with confidence, remain resilient in the face of obstacles, and define success on their own terms.
