This special session, organized by the IEEE Women in Engineering Affinity Group of IIT in celebration of International Women's Day, brought together the community to recognize the achievements, leadership, and contributions of women in academia and engineering, while creating an inclusive space where conversations on empowerment, leadership, and growth welcomed all voices and perspectives. The highlight of the session was a talk titled "Lessons from My Journey: Things No One Told Us About Being a Woman", delivered by Dr. Dilhari Attygalle, Dean of the Informatics Institute of Technology , whose years of experience in academia, leadership, and student mentorship have shaped the academic journeys of countless students and made her a respected and inspiring figure to many. Through candid personal reflections on the lessons, challenges, and perspectives from her own journey, Dr. Attygalle offered an honest and insightful conversation that resonated deeply with attendees and left them with meaningful takeaways for their own personal and professional growth.
