Planning meeting for TechThrive 2026, a competition and exhibition organized by the IEEE Student Branch of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura for school and university students. The event challenges participants to solve real-world industrial and engineering problems across three tracks: IoT Based Projects, Robotics and Automation, and Power Electronics and Renewable Systems, guiding teams from idea pitches through prototype development to a final live exhibition. The meeting covered the full scope of the event, including the competition's multi-round structure (idea submission, prototype development, live prototype showcase), the two pre-competition workshops for school students, mentorship sessions with industry professionals, awareness sessions for both school and university participants, and the grand exhibition showcasing working prototypes to judges and the public. Discussion also covered the Organizing Committee recruitment plan and structure, including the Executive Team (Chairperson, Vice Chairperson), Program & Event Team (12 members across University Overview, School Overview, and Main Event Operations), Delegates Team (6 members), Marketing & Design Team (6 members), Finance Team (6 members), and Logistics Team (4 members), along with their respective responsibilities in event execution, participant support, promotion, budgeting, and logistics. The team also reviewed the overall competition timeline, from registration through workshops, awareness sessions, competition rounds, results, mentor sessions, and the final exhibition, and discussed next steps and action items for moving the event forward.
