The IEEE Challenge Sphere – Chips Challenge Final Examination served as the national selection examination to identify Sri Lanka's representative for the International Microelectronics Olympiad (IMO) in Armenia . Organized under the IEEE Challenge Sphere initiative, the examination assessed participants' knowledge and problem-solving skills in microelectronics and electronic design automation (EDA) through a rigorous closed-book assessment. The national winner earned the prestigious opportunity to represent Sri Lanka at the International Microelectronics Olympiad in Armenia, competing against top young engineers from around the world. The examination was hosted by the IEEE Student Branch of Curtin University Colombo in collaboration with the IEEE Circuits and Systems Society (CASS) & Council on Electronic Design Automation (CEDA) Sri Lanka Joint Chapter , providing a professional examination environment for undergraduate participants. The event aimed to encourage excellence in microelectronics, promote interest in semiconductor technologies, and inspire students to pursue careers in integrated circuit design and electronic systems while strengthening Sri Lanka's presence in the global microelectronics community.
