The Congress of Mortals was organized as an awareness and membership development session to introduce freshers (Of Semester 1) and other students to IEEE and the opportunities available through the IEEE Student Branch. The session provided a comprehensive overview of IEEE, its mission, and the value it offers to students both globally and locally. Participants were introduced to the benefits of becoming an IEEE member, including access to technical resources, professional networking opportunities, leadership development, international exposure, and career advancement. The session also focused on demonstrating the return on investment (ROI) of an IEEE membership and provided practical guidance on how students can maximize the benefits of their membership by actively engaging in IEEE activities and utilizing the organization's extensive resources. To encourage participation, attendees received IEEE merchandise, while students who completed their IEEE membership registration within the week were eligible for additional merchandise. Interested students were identified during the session, and their details were shared with the Membership Development (Onboarding and Acquisition) Team for further follow-up and membership confirmation. The event successfully increased awareness of IEEE among prospective members while fostering greater student engagement with the IEEE Student Branch.
