Description

ASCEND is a professional, industry-oriented workshop series organized by the IEEE Women in Engineering Affinity Group of Informatics Institute of Technology, designed to bridge the gap between academic learning and industry expectations by exposing undergraduate students to emerging technologies, practical insights, and career-oriented learning experiences. Through monthly sessions, ASCEND connects technical topics to real-world job roles, helping students build industry awareness and better prepare for internships and future careers. So far, two sessions have been held: the first on Building CI/CD Pipelines with GitHub Actions , exploring roles like DevOps Engineer, Cloud Engineer, Platform Engineer, and Site Reliability Engineer; and the second on Building with AI: From LLMs to Real-World Applications , covering roles such as AI Engineer, Machine Learning Engineer, AI Product Engineer, Data Scientist, and Solutions Architect.
