Botwars - Introductory Workshop
July 18, 2026 · 1:30 PM - 2:30 PM @ Online event
Description
BotWars is an inter-university AI competition organized by the IEEE Computational Intelligence Society (CIS) Student Branch Chapter of the Informatics Institute of Technology (IIT), where participants design and develop intelligent strategies for card game bots that compete head-to-head to determine the winning teams. The competition aims to promote the practical application of Artificial Intelligence, game theory, and algorithmic thinking through a competitive and engaging environment. The introductory session of BotWars was conducted on 18 July via Zoom to provide participants with the necessary understanding and preparation for the qualifying round of the competition. Participants were introduced to the competition structure, objectives, infrastructure, and bot development workflow, while gaining insights into how their approaches should be designed and implemented to compete effectively. The session also covered the technical requirements, evaluation process, and strategic approaches involved in developing intelligent bots, highlighting the application of Artificial Intelligence, game theory, and algorithmic strategies in competitive environments. Participants gained a clearer understanding of the expectations and preparation required before entering the qualifier round. Overall, the introductory session successfully equipped participants with the foundation required to begin developing their bots while encouraging innovation, strategic thinking, and the practical application of Artificial Intelligence concepts.
