As part of SDG Sprints 2026 , a nationwide initiative where IEEE Student Branches across Sri Lanka represent and promote a United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (SDG), the IEEE Student Branch of General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University (KDU) represented SDG 13 – Climate Action by organizing a technical session titled “Climate Action through Innovation and Technology.” The session aimed to raise awareness of climate change while highlighting the role of innovation and emerging technologies in addressing environmental challenges. Participants gained valuable insights into sustainable engineering solutions, climate resilience, and the importance of research and collaboration in achieving SDG 13. The event also encouraged students and young professionals to recognize their responsibility in developing technology-driven solutions for a more sustainable future, fostering meaningful discussions and inspiring innovative thinking.
