Membership Task Force 2026

Description

Membership Task Force (MTF) is an ongoing initiative organized by the IEEE Student Branch of General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University (KDU) with the objective of increasing paid IEEE student memberships and promoting active engagement within the Student Branch. The initiative raises awareness of the professional, technical, and networking opportunities available through IEEE membership while encouraging students to become part of the global IEEE community. The initiative is carried out through four dedicated sub-teams: Program, Public Relations (PR), Secretary, and Design . The PR and Design teams lead promotional campaigns, including a series of engaging flyers and social media content, while the Program and Secretary teams coordinate the planning, documentation, and execution of the initiative. A key highlight of the campaign is the introduction of IEEE Membership Kits , which are presented to newly joined IEEE student members. These kits serve as a welcoming gesture and symbolize their entry into the IEEE community, while also promoting a sense of belonging and encouraging greater participation in Student Branch activities. Through this collaborative effort, the Membership Task Force continues to strengthen membership engagement, recognize new members, and contribute to the sustainable growth of the IEEE Student Branch of General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University.
