The session titled “The Future of Wireless: Leveraging AI and Quantum Technologies for Next-Gen Wireless Communications” was successfully held on Sunday, 18th January 2026, via Zoom. The event was organized by the IEEE ComSoc Student Branch Chapter at the University of Peradeniya with the objective of introducing participants to the cutting-edge technologies shaping next-generation wireless networks. The session was conducted by Dr. Sabyasachi Bhattacharyya, Assistant Professor at the Department of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering, Barak Valley Engineering College, Assam, India. He provided an insightful overview of the critical roles that Artificial Intelligence and Quantum computing play in modern telecommunications. The speaker explained the integration of AI-driven intelligence into network infrastructure and highlighted how quantum advancements are revolutionizing network capabilities and security. Furthermore, the talk explored the structural roadmap for future wireless systems and their potential real-world impact on global communications.
