Automation Vertex 2026 was an interactive technical and industry-oriented event organized by the IEEE Student Branch of the University of Vavuniya. The event was designed to introduce university students to automation concepts, emerging technologies, practical applications, and current industry practices. The program combined a keynote technical session, industry-focused insights, and an interactive question-and-answer session, enabling participants to connect their academic knowledge with real-world applications. The session was conducted by Mr. Mohamed Shazan from Legacy Health LLC, who shared his technical knowledge, professional experience, and practical perspectives related to automation. Participants gained a clearer understanding of how automation technologies are applied within modern organizations and explored the skills and career pathways available in this field. The event also created an opportunity for students to interact directly with an industry professional and clarify technical and career-related questions. Participants represented the Faculty of Technological Studies and the Faculty of Applied Science, with the majority coming from the 2025/2026 academic intake. Overall, the event successfully strengthened technical awareness, encouraged professional engagement, and inspired students to further explore automation and related emerging technologies.
